Why do you enter haunted houses?
A few weeks ago, a friend from France, Paul, came to the U.S. to visit his friends and family. He had a week to spend in Southern Indiana (what we locals call “SoIN”) and wanted to use every minute he could spare sampling all that we have to offer in the area.

Warm breezes and chilled wine. Laughter, lively chatter, and music. Plenty of food to go around. Shaded spots for conversation and games.
Is it a family reunion? No, but it is a family reunion of sorts.

My hands are stained purple with juice. The sun is shining on my sunscreen-slathered neck and arms. My bucket is filling with “black gold.” I’m picking black raspberries, and all is right with the world.

When my family and I moved to the SoIN region 18 years ago, we had no idea this area was steeped in the performing arts. We’re music geeks and movie-goers who love attending concerts, musicals, dramas, and comedies...and even an occasional thriller.
