About the Area
Welcome to SoIN, a place with revitalized art-filled downtowns, rolling hills, riverside experiences, and centuries of history.
“SoIN” is the term we use to define Clark and Floyd Counties in southern Indiana. We are just across the river from Louisville, Kentucky in Indiana. We’re in the sweet spot – a place with easy access to our big city neighbor and just a few miles from rolling hill farmlands. Experience the craft culture, outdoor experiences, and history of Southern Indiana.
Our communities date back to the Revolutionary War when Gen. George Rogers Clark led his campaign to capture the “Northwest Territories” of our young nation. Clark’s younger brother, William Clark, later became half of the famed Lewis and Clark duo. The two met here near the Falls of the Ohio and then led the Corps of Discovery on one of our nation’s most famous expeditions.
With a blend of unique downtowns and rural settings, you’ll find Hoosier hospitality at its best in Southern Indiana.
