Origin Park is a unique urban park now being developed by River Heritage Conservancy below the Falls of the Ohio in Southern Indiana. Origin’s design embraces the Ohio River in all its moods and stages, including paddling launches, wildlife habitats, and multi-level trails. Visitors will discover a landscape where natural resources are being restored and an astonishing history is revealed and honored. The first 141 acres of the envisioned regional park will be completed in 2026. Even now, more than 1.2 million people within a 20-minute drive can come to relax, explore, and enjoy the park’s raw beauty. All land has been acquired for the park’s Phase I, which begins construction in 2023 and includes a free public paddling launch on Silver Creek that will be open to the public from April 2023. Public programming in the park focused on topics like birding and tree identification is ongoing, and current programs will be listed on SoIN Tourism’s website.
