One with Nature

This itinerary is for the bride or groom who loves to be outdoors, connecting with nature and all its offerings.

Friday

Start your weekend getaway with dinner al fresco. SoIN has several options to choose from, like Upland Brewing Co., The Exchange, Red Yeti, Outcast Fish & Oyster Bar and more. After dinner, enjoy a sunset walk along the Ohio River Greenway or across the Big Four Bridge, connecting Jeffersonville to Louisville, KY.

Saturday

Let the festivities begin with breakfast/brunch at Wild Eggs in New Albany or El Mañanero in Clarksville. You can view more brunch options here.

Next up, hit the hiking trails at Charlestown State Park. The park’s interpretive naturalist Jeremy Beavin recommends Trail 1, a rugged 2.5-mile trail with rock outcrops and remnants of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant. In the springtime, hikers are treated to a carpet of wildflowers, including hillsides of Virginia Bluebells. While you’re there, be sure to check out Rose Island, an abandoned amusement park where locals and Louisvillians flocked to in the 1920s.

If you prefer the links over a hike, check out one of Southern Indiana’s golf courses, including two designed by a Masters Champion.

Indulge in a post-hike or golf meal at 1894 Lodge in New Washington. From their weekly egg roll and dessert specials to their signature Tomahawk pork chop & smoked old-fashioned (which is highly recommended by Chef Logan Hostettler), this is a can’t-miss restaurant in SoIN.

Your last stop is Greenway Park. Enjoy a night of stargazing during the warmer months or view the dazzling light displays during the holiday season.

Sunday

Take things easy on your last day with a cup of coffee from one of SoIN’s local spots, such as Coffee Crossing or Starlight Coffee Co. From there, head up to Huber Winery and Starlight Distillery in Borden. These SoIN staples offer a range of activities, from a bottle-your-own bourbon experience and wine tastings to live music on the patio. There's something for everyone in your wedding crew to enjoy, including brunch, lunch and ice cream, making it easy to spend the day there!

For the Foodies

This itinerary is for the bride or groom who loves to experience a destination by taste. SoIN boasts a diverse culinary scene, offering everything from classic American fare to international flavors.

Friday

Gather your bridal party for dinner at Agave and Rye, which boasts eclectic, vibrant décor and a fantastic upstairs patio during warmer months. Choose from their “epic” taco selection to create your own flight, or indulge in delicious burritos, quesadillas and more.

Finish the night at the Wine Shop in downtown New Albany, where you can savor a selection of fine wines, craft cocktails, cider or alcohol-free drinks all while enjoying the chic atmosphere. If you prefer locally crafted brews, head over to The Enchanted Forest & Music Hall, a local biergarten and part of Floyd County Brewing Company.

Saturday

Pop into Mochi Wren Boba & Bakery in New Albany or Boba Bun in Jeffersonville for a latte, boba tea, or whatever else catches your eye from their menus (there’s so much to choose from)! After you’ve grabbed your drinks and a quick bite to eat, peruse the shops and boutiques of downtown New Albany or Jeffersonville.

In the evening, head to MESA, A Live Dining Show. Here, you can engage with the region’s top chefs as they prepare a three-to-four-course dinner.

Sunday

Nothing beats a Sunday brunch, and SoIN has plenty of options for your crew to try. Red Yeti’s brunch is a local favorite, boasting biscuits and gravy, cornbread pancakes, classic steak frites and eggs, and more. Located just blocks from the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Jeffersonville, this spot is the perfect place to fuel up before an afternoon walk. Click here for more brunch options in SoIN.

In need of a little R&R

This itinerary is for the bride or groom looking to recharge with some self-care.

Friday

Drop in or schedule an appointment at Vetiver, an independent, artisan perfumery that specializes in custom fragrance design. Choose your scents, select your vessel, then combine and transfer to create a perfume or cologne unique to you. End the night with dinner and dessert at Petra Mediterranean Restaurant, located in New Albany’s Underground Station.

Saturday

Start your day at Sukhino Float Center and Salt Cave, home to the world’s only treehouse salt cave! Enjoy flotation therapy, halotherapy, and Infrared Stone Therapy, any of which will have you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Afterward, grab lunch at Dragon King’s Daughter, La Catrina Mexican Kitchen or Baer’s City Winery.

In the evening, walk or bike along the Ohio River Greenway before getting dinner at one of SoIN riverside restaurants, such as Upland Brewing Co., GAME on the River or Harry’s Tap House & Kitchen

Sunday

Grab brunch at Leaven Bakery, whose motto is "All from scratch. All of the time."  Leaven Bakery offers a menu using Asian and Latin flavors, executed with French techniques. The brunch menu features biscuits and gravy, stuffed French toast and much more.

Next, head to Wimsatt Soap & Soy Candle Bar for a 30–60-minute candle-making class, where you’ll create a custom candle with over 40 scent options. While your candle sets, relax with a wine slushie or explore nearby shops.

For History Lovers

This itinerary is for the bride or groom who loves all things history.

Friday

Explore the shops of downtown Jeffersonville before having dinner at Red Yeti, which is located in a historic building dating back to 1881! Over the years, it’s been home to a jeweler, pool hall, doctor’s office, grocery store, antique shop, electronics store and more.

Saturday

Grab a homecooked-style breakfast from Geraldine’s Kitchen in downtown Jeffersonville.

Next, a history buff’s dream awaits at the Howard Steamboat Museum. Built in 1894, the mansion-turned-museum features a collection of original furnishings, brass gasoliers, stained glass windows, intricate carvings and a magnificent black walnut staircase replicated from a steamboat.

In the afternoon, check out another “Gem of Jeffersonville” at Schimpff’s Confectionery, a family-owned and operated candy shop that has been going for more than 130 years. Order lunch and a float at the deli before walking through the shop’s three stores and candy museum. Enjoy a free candy-making demonstration where the owners create shop favorites using the same equipment that was used over 100 years ago.

Experience the New Albany Wicked Walk, a 2-hour walking tour of locations where odd and dreadful occurrences happened in downtown New Albany from the 1800s to the early 1900s. Occasionally, the tour will stop at The High Dive, an eclectic dive bar housed in the historic Stoy-Shrader House.

Sunday

Grab brunch at Sleepy Rooster, whose menu offers breakfast classics from north and south of the border, including omelets, benedicts and chilaquiles, plus twists on favorites like the divorced rancheros and morning churros.

In the afternoon, visit the Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center (a former library funded by Andrew Carnegie). The center’s permanent exhibits showcase the region’s history, including New Albany’s ties to the Underground Railroad.

Next up, take a stroll down New Albany’s Mansion Row, where you’ll find the Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site. Get tickets for a guided tour to learn more about the mansion’s original owner and area philanthropist William Culbertson. Elevate your experience by booking a private tea in the mansion’s formal parlor.
