Southern Indiana and Louisville are vibrant and growing areas with a host of dining, shopping and entertainment options. When you’re working (or playing!) on one side of the river, chances are you’ll want to make a quick drive across the river to explore and take advantage of a multitude of offerings.

What do you need to know?

RiverLink is all-electronic tolling with no slowing and stopping. There are three tolled bridges – the two I-65 bridges (Lincoln and Kennedy bridges) and the SR 265/KY 841 bridge in the east end (Lewis and Clark Bridge). There are also two non-tolled bridges – the I-64 bridge (Sherman Minton) and US 31 bridge (Clark Memorial).

Which bridge makes the most sense for you?

The Clark Memorial Bridge connects southern Indiana and downtown Louisville, near the KFC Yum! Center. If there’s a game or concert, you may have a lot of companies crossing the bridge. Plan ahead and allow extra time. If you have a prepaid account and transponder, tolls are just over $2/crossing, not a big expense to quickly get you where you’re going.

How do you pay your tolls?

There are three ways to pay your tolls and an easy way to save:

1.    Prepaid Account and Transponder: Pay the lowest toll rates as you go, saving more than $2 per crossing. You can quickly open an account at RiverLink.com. Savings begin right away.
2.    Pay by Plate: Pay a few days after crossing a tolled bridge at RiverLink.com, by clicking Pay Tolls and entering the needed information.
3.    Invoice (Pay by Mail): An invoice is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. It may take several weeks to receive an invoice.

If you’re traveling with an E-ZPass from another state, you’re in good shape! RiverLink is E-ZPass compatible, or you can purchase a RiverLink E-ZPass and put it to use as you travel in 17 states. That’s what you need to know before you go!
