Intro to Drawing: Contour Lines and Drapery
- December 2, 2026

DAY ONE, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 2
Starting with still-life items and working our way up to portraiture
With these drawings, done without lifting your pen from the paper, (and some without looking at the paper) you can create bold expressive lines. These drawings are about the process not the product! Improve your line quality, hand eye coordination, observation skills, and drawing confidence. If you’re new to this process don’t worry, there will be lots of demonstrations.
DAY TWO, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 9
Will apply flowing and bold contour lines to drapery. Participants will draw from a still-life of objects wrapped in drapery. The objects underneath will help participants see the form of the drapery.
DAY THREE, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 16
Participants will continue exploring contour lines and drapery from a fun still-life, with the addition of value. Participants will choose an area of emphasis and build up value using pencils.
