The Commons is now open in Charlestown! This vibrant, outdoor event space expands the City Square. The City Square is a hub of activity throughout the year, led by the popular Charlestown Christmas City displays that draw 60,000 visitors each year. Monthly car shows take place on the square, along with the growing Saturdays on the Square Pop-Up Market from May to September.

Family Ark, a Jeffersonville behavioral health and addiction treatment center, celebrated the opening of its new U-PICK experience, which supports its mission of helping families in crisis, people struggling with addiction and others facing instability. Wild Indigo Flower Farm serves as both a community U-PICK garden and a work opportunity for residents of Family Ark's Lotus House. The Mercantile has opened a second location in SoIN! The owner of The Mercantile New Albany has taken over the former Sugar Maples space in downtown Jeffersonville. The shop is thoughtfully curated, offering antique, vintage, repurposed, artisan, boutique and new home goods. Stop inside and see what treasures you can find.
Putts & Pints at Our Lady of Perpetual Hops
Grab your pals for putts & pints at OLPH! The new course is New Albany’s only putt-putt course. The course features 18 holes, and admission is $10/person ($6 for kids 12 & under); children must be accompanied by an adult. The Vintage Fire Museum in downtown Jeffersonville, dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of firefighting, has expanded! A new building, adjacent to the main museum, was designed to look like a classic firehouse. Inside, visitors can see historic fire engines, including a 1948 Buffalo quad from the Dauenhauer collection. The new space also features unique items like an authentic suit worn by Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible,” adding a fun splash of pop culture to the experience.
Derby Dinner Playhouse 2026-27 Season
Derby Dinner’s new season kicks off on May 20 with Calendar Girls, a warm, funny story of friendship and bravery. This comedy follows a group of women who create a bold calendar for a fundraiser after a loss, turning their small-town idea into a national sensation.
Other shows include Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Heartbreak Hotel, Misery, A Christmas Story the Musical, The Cottage, Little Shop of Horrors & 9 to 5 the Musical.
Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center Rotating Exhibitions
Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center presents REDEMPTION, a solo exhibition by nationally acclaimed muralist and visual artist Jaylin Monet' Stewart. Born and raised in West Louisville, Stewart is known for emotionally driven work exploring identity, transformation and healing.
REDEMPTION is Stewart’s first solo exhibition and features immersive pieces inspired by the public spaces and communities that shaped her life. An opening reception will take place May 22 from 5 – 8 p.m., with the exhibition on display through October 17.
