Prof. Williger from the University of Louisville is presenting a most interesting discussion on Astronomy to help better understand what our evening skies tell us.  His approach will be from the effect the skies have on not only navigation, but our daily lives.  This scintillating program may cause you to appreciate the night skies in a whole new light.

Prof Williger explains his talk in these words “Steamboats use water in two ways:  they float on it, and use the physics of water boiling and condensing in their engines.  There are two aspects of water in the sky as well:  through water-sign constellations and real water molecules in gas clouds and planets.  In fact, water is one of the most abundant molecules in the Universe!  Prof. Williger will give a brief tour of some of the major water constellations then describe how water in the Universe is created and where it goes, including some explanations for how it got to Earth”.

The talk will take place on Thursday the 24th of April at 7:00pm in the Carriage House Event Center on the campus of the Howard Steamboat Museum.

Seating will be first come, first served in a theatre style.

We are suggesting a $5.00 donation to attend.
