A little about the artist and the show
Richard Blanton started performing at a young age in church and sacred music remains dear to his heart. After studying music and theater in college, he spent the next 25 years as a theater professional. His work has taken him around the globe but he’s thrilled to be back home in Bardstown, Kentucky. Regionally, you may have seen him in The Stephen Foster Story, or at Music Theatre of Louisville, Kentucky Opera, The Louisville Bach Society, and many other great locations!
His musical passion is the Great American Songbook - songs from the early to mid-twentieth century. Think Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett and modern singers such as Michael Bublé, Michael Feinstein, Jamie Cullum or Harry Connick, Jr. Richard. Blanton also loves singing songs from the golden age of Broadway and “Steamboat Swing” will include selections from shows old and new.
