The Howard Steamboat Museum is pleased to present “Ready, Set, Steam: Steamboat Race Day Brunch”—an engaging and informative program exploring the thrilling history of steamboat racing—on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the Carriage House Event Center at the Howard Steamboat Museum.
Guests will enjoy a delicious brunch followed by a lively and entertaining talk. Admission also includes a complimentary tour of the museum, which may be taken immediately after the program or at your convenience within one month of the event.
Our featured speaker, Mr. Vasconcelos, is the Museum Director and a former “Riverlorian” (river historian) for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company, Majestic America Line, and American Queen Steamboat Company. Known throughout the river community for his engaging storytelling and passion for river history, he brings the excitement of the steamboat era to life.
This event is the perfect way to kick off your day before the excitement of steamboat racing on the Ohio River later that afternoon—perhaps even the start of a new Derby-time tradition!
Admission: $30 per person Reservations are required.
