Interested in trying out a new art technique in the New Year?  Join us for one of the two classes being offered on Saturday, January 24, 2026, as artist and instructor, Hannah Durham, introduces the monotype or monoprinting process.  Monoprints blend painting with printmaking and are a fun, spontaneous method of creating one-of-a-kind prints on paper from a plate or block.  For this class, the printing block will be a 6” x 6”, reusable pad of clear, silicone gel.  Water soluble inks and acrylic paints are used as the pigments.  The Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center’s lower level will be the site of these classes.

Registration is required and limited to twelve participants per class.  This will be first come, first served. This is necessary due to a limited number of gel plates available.  If you sign up for these classes, please attend them, or let someone else have the chance.

Hannah Durham will be the instructor for this opportunity.  Hannah is a regular participating member of our Artists’ Roundtable Group and examples of her monoprints can be seen in the current exhibition entitled, “Estuary” at the Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center.  The Artists’ Roundtable Group usually meets the last Thursday of the month at the Cultural Arts Center.  Do you make art and need some critical dialogue or just want to be around other art supportive individuals?  Consider this your invitation to join our roundtable discussions.
