Learn about bald eagles and their comeback from being endangered species. Observe them on and/or around their nest on Shippingport Island, part of the Falls of the Ohio National Wildlife Conservation Area. Program will be held at the George Rogers Clark home site 1105 Harrison Ave for the best view of the nest. Spotting scopes will be in front of the cabin. Led by Naturalist at Heart volunteer and experienced birder Del Striegel.
Interpretive naturalists from Hardy Lake will bring down several raptors, including their bald eagle, and will have them on display from 1:30-3 PM. Spotting scopes will be set up in front of the cabin to watch the pair nesting on Shippingport Island between 2 and 4 pm. Inclement weather will move this program to the Interpretive Center.
$2 per person donation suggested benefiting the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Rehab Center at Hardy Lake.
