Carrie Lambert visited Clark and Floyd Counties in July. She is the Executive Director of the Indiana Tourism Association and a blogger who writes for the Indiana Office of Tourism Development.

The purpose of her visit was twofold: experience some of the area’s family-friendly attractions and discuss tourism’s impact on the local and state economy.

On Monday, July 20, Lambert spoke with journalists from Louisville Business First, the News and Tribune, and WHAS Channel 11. She talked about the importance of tourism to the economy.

Tourism, she said, can be a welcome mat for businesses and can spur economic development. Often, they go hand in hand. In some cases they make the proverbial “chicken and egg” argument. Tourism can inject dollars into the local economy and can help elevate residents’ standard of living.
